The Virtual Sandbox - Museum of World Sands

How to Donate Sand

This site exists because of gracious people like you

This website has been donated by Jaster Media as a place for others to enjoy images of sand from around the world we live in. These images have helped both grade schools, universities and professional geologists throughout our wonderful planet. As such, If you have any sand from your part of the wold that you would be willing to share with others, we would be glad to photograph any samples sent to us and post them here as time permits. Anyone who donates sand or photos to this website may also freely use all the sand photos for thier own pleasure, whether for school essays or professional research.

All sand samples are greatly appreciated

A small amount of sand is all that is required for us to create beautiful photographs. If you would like to participate, here's how you can:

  1. Place a teaspoon of DRY sand in a durable ziplock bag.
  2. Label the bag well with the location the sand was collected. Include Country, City, and Site of collection and your name (your name is optional).
  3. Place the sand in an envelope and mail to:
    60 - 27456 32nd Ave. Aldergrove, BC, V4W 3P1 Canada.

Before mailing, check with your post office that your country permits export of sand.
  4. As time permits, we will photograph the sand and place it on this site with credit to the collector for all to enjoy.
